The point was, it's a load of crap. With the extreme wealth in areas like west Austin, the property taxes get skewed. AISD loses out on getting funding for all those kids because based on numbers it looks like a of AISD is living in Tarrytown when in actuality they aren't.

not at all. The median says that half are above that level and half are below. This means that travis county generates twice the tax revenue than the average school district in texas.

If we give up 30% of our tax revenue, then we are still getting about 20 points more than the average school district.

Im not saying I agree with the system philosophically, but there is not shortage of money for AISD, unless there is an even bigger shortage for poor districts.
