Saw a kid yesterday just pulling out of the Vista Ridge HS parking lot looking straight down at his phone, steering with his forearms while almost rear-ending the car in front of him...all during school rush hour traffic! Then a school bus cut off an impatient driver who couldn't let the bus get squared away in a lane after a right-hand turn...no signal at all.

That was in a span of about 30 seconds! Needless to say, I stayed on the sidewalk(on my bike) til I cleared that fire drill.

Got to love student drivers.. seems its getting worst daily now.. whole lot of new traffic the past few weeks i notice.

Another idiot Anderson and Lamar, just stop at the light and couldnt figure out the light was for her side and it was green. We all horn her to move, she just sit their till it turn red and ran it, almost got T-bone by the bus. Now the turning lane seems to be the new passing lane to turn left 2 miles up the road.

Here in Central Austin it is all too apparent that March is almost upon us! And you know what that means . . .

SXSW! Streets blocked, hordes of tourists looking at their phones crossing streets, special events at local businesses, pop up events in empty parking lots -- the regular March drill! took an extra 20 minutes to get home yesterday because YETI was opening their new headquarters and jamming S Congress.

It is definitely starting to build. SXSW really impacts my daily life. Some years we embrace it and do every single free thing we can but this year we are headed out of the town for the worst of it.

Actually, I had to spend the last month in Houston. It was my impression that traffic there is much worse than in Austin.
