Default Where to live

I vacationed in Lago Vista and fell in love with Austin. I am from Seattle and love the water (lakes, sea, and ocean). I also love fishing and around here the woods and the mountains. The thing that we fell in love with the most was having the deer surround our condo. I hate big cities, but want to be able to drive to one within a couple hours. My wife is a Starbucks manager for 15 years so she will need to transfer. I am a car painter, but can do anything so I am not worried about employment. We sold our place to a land developer and will be moving there with $250,000 we will buy or build a place for 200K. We are your classic white trash who like to have a good time. We are in our mid 30's we don't do drugs or commit crimes, but at the same time we don't fit in any stuffy rich neighborhood. So my question to all you Texans is where should I move to cause currently I am only looking at Lago Vista and Jonestown

Lago Vista and Jonestown sound perfect for you. If you can get lakeview, all the better! Leander is getting a Starbucks at Crystal Falls and 183....

Don't know is you have kids or not but if ya do stay more on the Jonestown side than lago. Jonestown goes to Leander ISD and its better than the Lago ISD.

If you don't mind being 2 hrs from Austin you can check into Lake Belton. Morgan's Point, a community in Belton, has tons of deer and turkey and some lakeview property.

I am with the above posters, it sounds like you have already found the perfect spot! Water, open space, and you have been there and liked it!
FWIW...Rebreu is the best Auto painters in Austin I have been told. (183 /mopac area)

I lived in Cedar Park for 14 years and had one son go from kindergarten through 12th grade at Leander schools and now have a high schooler in Lago Vista schools (since 3rd grade). The smaller Lago school is a better fit for #2 son and the larger 5A school was the best fit for #1 son. However, I don't see any mention of kidlets in your post but I can vouch for the FUN and FISHING part. We do have a LOT of fun in Lago Vista and the fishing is great! There are many great properties on the market in the lower $200K's; one that I know of is screaming for a fun couple to move into (with a fantastic workshop for a gadget man.....). And though it's in a nice neighborhood, it's by no means full of "stuffy rich" folks.
