Hi, fellow Austinites,

I have a kindergartener who tested as GT and I am trying to make a decision about where to send him to school. He is currently homeschooling. I see Ace Academy underwent a change in leadership this past year and am curious about the state of things over there. I would generally love info/advice from anyone who has experience w/ GT in the Austin area. We are currently zoned to Pflugerville ISD and they have an interesting program called Ascend but it doesn't start until 4th grade. Up until then, the students are put w/ a GT-certified teacher and do 1 45 minuted pull-out a week. That's about it. Are things any different in Eanes or AISD? I've been looking at websites but some on-the-ground insight would be amazing right about now. Thanks in advance!

I have a friend who has twin boys at AISD that are GT. I believe their pull outs are about the same.

You didn't ask about Leander ISD, but their program does a pull-out 4 days a week. It's at least 30 minutes at a time, but may be 40 or 50. I can't remember.
