Thumbs up Two more RR Morningside Meadows questions

Two more questions about the 78644 zip code area in and around Morningside Meadows.

1. Why is there a separate listing in certain subdivision home data sites for KB homes versus non-KB homes for this particular area?

2. What is the large complex [apartment? hotel? ??] on the west side of Red Bud across from Cheyenne Valley Cove?

Curious.

It's an apartment building...

I live down the road a bit past Red Bud and Gattis. In Forest Creek. This whole area is very safe, quiet, great family area. New HEB!

Where is this listing? I'm not sure what you are talking about. Don't buy a KB home though.

I'm pretty sure they have 2 HOAs in MM. I think KB built the larger 2 story ones near the back, like those on Santolina Lane. KB also has another subdivision VERY nearby, Green something or other. That one is not in Round Rock and goes to Pfluggerville schools.

I live behind this neighborhood. Greenridge. I have a Round Rock address. However there is a bordering street in our neighborhood that zones our schools for Pflugerville and the other side of Greenridge and MM is Round Rock schools. Either way, I love it. They will be opening the on ramp to 45 very soon on Redbud and you have I30 further down Gattis. Great location. We have a Randalls down Gattis and the new HEB w/ Walgreens right on the corner. Convenient, Quiet area. I have to say, when we bought our home, my criteria was, after reading many, many complaints NOT to buy a KB Home either. We searched all over and saw many new homes and considered having a new one built and then I walked into my home and fell in love with it. I was heart broken when I found out it was indeed a KB Home.

However, we found an inspector that is well known in the area for being extremely thorough, in fact he tends to scare people out of buying homes. He inspected our home and there were just a couple of non-issue, non structural problems with the home that were taken care of by the seller prior to closing.

We have lived in it with a house full of 4 very loud, very rambunctious little girls and 2 big dogs in the yard and have not had one single issue with this house. I have also heard of the same complaints with other builders. Don't let a KB Home sway you, just make sure you get a reputable, good inspector that will give you details of your home. We've been very happy with ours!

There are several builders in this neighborhood, KB Home and Lennar being two that I know of.

To 'Jenbar', thanks and one site I found is Home Almanac for Austin. Copy me direct for a link. And, Yes, I noticed the mistake with the zip code.
I've done search's for apartments but couldn't find that one listed.

This zip is my primary search focus.

To 'RND', that would explain the separate data sheets. Thanks.

To 'nolatx', thanks for the fill-in. Is Albertsons still there, too? At the NW corner of RB and Gattis?

Would you feel comfortable recommending your home inspector? There are over a hundred in the yellow pages. You can copy me direct if you wish.

Thanks for the feedback.

I don't know if schools are an issue, but next year Morningside Meadows will not go to Forest Creek Elementary - that neighborhood will be bussed to Gattis Elementary.

The Albertson's is gone, and in it's place is the new HEB - much better.

Have you looked in Forest Creek? You can get quite a deal right now, and it has community ammenities.

My son bought a KB home in Greenridge in September. I love the long island in the kitchen and huge pantry they have in those homes. The upstairs floors do squeak and the closet doors are apt grade, flat and cheap, but other then that their home is very cute. They have a very nice playground up the street for my grand daughter to play in when she is old enough. I really liked the neighborhood in front of theirs "Morningside" because they are all 1 story homes with hugh lots 1/2 acre.

Not all of MM will go to Gattis. Some will continue to go to FCE.

I don't know. I heard, up at the school, differently. Though, I looked on RRISD's website and all it says is 'West of Calico' and does not offer a map... I don't know where Calico is. What I have learned by attending boundary meetings is that they typically try very hard to not split up neighborhoods... so I would be surprised if part was going to another school, and part was not... I would think, either or.... who knows.

Could that be "Calico Bush Lane" which sort of parallels Red Bud on the west edge of MM?
