Hi all,
What's your thoughts on The D.R.Horton new homes constructed in and around Pioneer crossing. Most of these homes are in 250 to 300k range and selling like hot cakes. I believe the school ratings would also improve with people moving into these neighborhoods. Safety used to be a concern, but I heard it's much better now.
What do y'all think about the neighborhood w.r.t price appreciation especially considering that it's 20 mins from downtown and domain as well as other major employers like GM, DELL etc...?
TIA.
Steve

Biggest negative in my mind is Major School District.

Don't you feel the concerned school ratings & ISD itself would improve with so many new construction coming up in that area and new people moving in? Demographics of kids attending those schools might change as well

It looks like it’s Pflugerville ISD. There are good schools in the district. Research he ones the school is zoned for, don’t focus on the entire district. I can’t say much more about thecarea, but please don’t discount an area just because one person saidca negative thing.

Pioneer Crossing West and East are MaNor ISD.

West:
Schools

Manor I.S.D.
10335 US Hwy 290E - (512) 278-4000
Pioneer Crossing Elementary
11300 Samsung Blvd. - (512) 278-4250
Decker Middle School
8104 Decker Lane - (512) 278-4630
Manor High School
12700 Gregg Manor Road - (512) 278-4030

East:

Although these homes have Austin addresses, students living in Pioneer Crossing East attend Manor ISD schools. Pioneer Crossing Elementary (PK-5), Decker Middle (6-8), and Manor High School (9-12) serve the community.

IF the info I found is correct.

Ya. It is Manor ISD. But I believe the schools that zone to these communities would definitely improve with time. Thats why I was wondering if it is a good area to buy in, considering the proximities to major employers & downtown/ Domain.

I have a friend who lives in that area since it's close to his job. By far, and he'd agree, the best area is the original Pioneer's Crossing, I think it's west. older homes, more established neighborhood. the newer subdivisions are full of rentals, don't look as nice for the most part, and Manor ISD serves the area. Unfortunately, Manor ISD is still lagging in many areas. My friend sends his kid to private school, as do many others (or charter). Could things change? Maybe? Read that post about a developer selling a section to a rental company. That may happen to you too. The market isn't feverish like it used to be and the builders want to build and be gone.

Thanks All for the info. Pioneer crossing east section actually backs to an old established neighborhood (in and around Samsung Blvd). It is also close to the elementary school. Yeah the main concern is about Manor ISD which I hope improves with time.

It's been ten years :/ you don't move into a place hoping it improves with time especially when you have kids.
