Default Best Cable, Internet and Electric Companies for Leander and Surrounding Areas

I am moving into my newly built home in Leander in July and I'm trying to figure out which companies have the best service and the best deals for my area for high speed internet, cable and electric. Phone service isn't needed, we just use our cell phones. Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks.

We're checking into the internet/cable thing ourselves. Right now we use AT&T dsl and its pretty cheap with phone service. But since you don't need that, I don't know what it would be. We don't have very many choices out here.

Electric is PEC...we don't have a choice there. The per/kw charge is low ($.09+) but there's a monthly service charge. Not bad if you use a lot of electricity.

Someone told me about Atmos Energy for electric, but I hadn't heard of PEC.

Atmos Energy is our gas company and Pedernales is the electric company. I'm certain that at this time we don't have a choice for electric.

I am here in Leander and its Atmos for gas, PEC for elec, Al Clawson for trash and City of Leander for water or Chisholm trail s.u.d. depending on how far out you are. Most of Leander is Suddenlink for cable just a few areas are Time Warner, I warn you now that water rates are very high for the city of Leander water. I think its twice the rate of CP and RR. My bill for 1400 sq ft home, not watering the grass (its a rental )and total family of 4 is about $117 a month. Across the street the single older lady has the same bill. Its expensive for the water. Chisholm Trail in the area I am moving to next month is $36 for the same amount of water. Its the intrastucture that you are paying for these days. And the talk is the water rates are about to go higher by 60% over the course of the next year or so.

My builder's sales rep., who lives in the same neighborhood as the one I will be in, said that his water bill in Leander is around $100/month with watering the grass and about $40 in the winter months. Texastea, what is your experience since you said you are in that area?

What area are you building in? There are a couple of other muds in the area I have found out also. I think also some of Crystal Falls is Leander but in Travis county so not sure what water you would use then.

Thanks but PEC is a co-op and there are no other companies that serve this area for elec.
