Hi, I apologize ahead of time for asking a common question! I'm debating between moving to Austin or Denver, but leaning towards Austin.

If I select Austin, what are some good neighborhoods for someone in their 30s and single? I should add that I'm a female so I want to feel safe - and I don't really want to spend more than $1500 a month. I'm also working remotely so I don't need to be in a specific location for work. I'd like to have a dog and be active but I still want to be near some nightlife. I've searched the forums and there seem to be a lot of questions on neighborhoods for people with families or young children ... I don't really want to be in a neighborhood with all families (or young college age kids either). I'm looking for a place that's got that residential, relaxed feel, but close enough to the action so I can mingle and meet people my age.

Right downtown may be too much (I'm coming to Austin after 6 years in NYC and need a break!) should I try for North Austin or Hyde Park? I'm a little lost.. Thanks in advance for your help!

There are a lot of North Austin areas that will fit the bill.

I would suggest starting with one of the apartments in the Arboretum area. There are a couple right across Lexus of Austin.

The areas north of the river and south of 45 between Mopac and 183 would be a good fit. That’s where I lived in my early 30sand felt same and wasnear other singles in my 30s. I lived in Windsor Park, but I don’t kknoe if I was ever super safe. It is near Mueller.
