I just think something like the size of a FunSpot would suffice in Austin just my opinion if a theme park never makes it to the city.

Then build it. Until then, it’s highly unlikely.

We love the area, but it is a bit sparse in this sort of "family things to do" category for a place that gets so much hype - amusement parks, (good) aquarium, zoo (yes, we have one, but even Waco blows it away), etc. I suppose because much of the Austin growth seems to be relatively recent, past the time these sorts of things were being built.
Too bad this isn't being built in Round Rock - https://www.kvue.com/article/news/lo.../269-552227152

I know it doesn’t seem like a long long drive to get to San Antonio but an 1hr and 30-35 mins once again to get to an amusement park is quite long. Again I don’t live in Texas so I guess I’m not used too people driving long hours to get to where they have to go. It’s not like San Antonio shares the same Metro region with Austin. If the economy is fine all I’m saying is that Austin should look into it something that’s a traditional theme park. If all fails they should have a Austin state fair in the summer with fair rides.

But Austin doesn't WANT to do that, or any of the other things you think we should do to make us more like somewhere you'd want to live (or just because you want to remake everywhere else to suit you? Can't quite tell from all your posting history everywhere).

And you have no clue about Metro regions or Austin and San Antonio (or New Braunfels where Schlitterbahn is, even closer than San Antonio) or, for that matter, about driving habits in Texas. (When we lived in Austin and even after, I've been known to drive to Houston and back for lunch and an afternoon of shopping.)

The last thing Austin lacks is stuff to do.

If you had ever been here, you’d get that. Keep farming clicks though.

It's probably about a half a mile from my house, so I'm well aware. However, wouldn't quite put a water park and an amusement park in the same bucket - and if you look at the pricing structure for other Kalahari properties, it's pretty clear they don't intend to cater to locals. There are two ways to get tickets - single-day passes and a hotel stay. There are no multi-day or annual/season passes that would favor locals and is actually often cheaper for a family of four to book a room (which really gives you 2 days at the park) than to buy 4 single-day passes.

You don’t live in Austin, understand the geography, culture, or current available options, but want to lobby for a theme park. Not sure I understand why?
