Just after I read about someone who could "turn the tables" on robo-call-spammers, I start getting all sorts of goofy caller ID numbers coming across my cell phone.
Often shows "Austin" and 512; but only a six digit number to follow. Sometimes shows the +1 before.
I'm getting a dozen a day, I'll bet I ain't answerin', y'all.

Seems like every day we are flooded with at least a dozen or more spam calls on our landline, then several on the wife’s mobile phone.
If we do not recognize the number or the name, then we just don’t answer. It is pretty annoying. Fookin’ Russians!

BTW Coach, I may try to make Cover 2 on Friday.

Use the ATT Call Protect App. It's actually very good, and you don't have to be an ATT customer to download/use it.

I've actually gotten MORE 1-800 spam calls since getting it! And many lately: like 3-4 a day. I block the caller each time, but they seem to be like a phoenix.

I used to have fun playing with them, like answer then hang up on the robo-call, or if a human was there, set the phone down and just wait until they hung up to waste their time. Now I don't answer at all unless I recognize the name/number
on caller ID. If it's legitimate they will leave a voicemail. Most of them now come from spoofed local area code and prefixes. On my cell I block them and I just noticed that I have over 100 blocked numbers on it.

That's what My Darling told me just today! MORE calls since she used it.
Does it take a while??(like trying to opt out of emails can take a few days)

Coming from a former telemarketer (okay, it was six months in 2007 after undergrad), if it’s a real person dialing, they cycle through lists throughout the quarter. I notice an uptick at the start of the month and a bigger increase at the start if a new quarter.

Also, seconding the ATT call block. I added it when I bought my new phone and it is pretty great.
