Default Atlanta to Austin, moving company recommendation

I seen several posts from folks relocating to Austin from Atlanta. Any recomendations or experiences you'd like to share. I did some research and found posts that state they can only speak on behalf the local office of the company they used, thus the reason for this new tread.

I received a few bids from the bigger companies and U-pack is the least expensive. I'm just a little concerned about my own packing abilities since we have some nice furniture and seveal antique pieces as well. Also I'll have to purchase extra boxes and rent lots of moving blankets and if I do hire some professional moving labor, while I still be saving $$? Allied is the next best price (phone quote) and their bid includes labor, boxes, blankets, etc. I guess I'm kind of on the fence of do it yourself vs full service.

Try www.MoversDirectlytoCalifornia (broken link) Us Texans have decided that we've had it with everyone moving here, so we've officially closed our borders to anyone from out of state. I hear California is a great place to live though, I think you'll enjoy it more than Texas anyway!

But I'm coming back home (after 17 years) . . . . I still have my Texas card and always keep fresh salsa in my fridge! Does that qualify as pass to enter in?

I'll be watching to see what you do... We talked to Door To Door and POD so far. Not sure what we're going to do either. We've purged a lot of stuff so hopefully we'll be okay.

So I wonder if Atlantans are second behind Californians for moving into Austin... it'll be nice to have some folks in Austin that understand 285 at 5pm.

I was browsing the amenities that Atlanta has to offer. I have to say I am really impressed.

Why would you want to leave Atlanta to Austin? I am just curious.

Thanks
