Village Inn on William Cannon
It appears that the village inn on William Cannon is closed. It was in Arbor Trails. Does anyone know why? Never been a big fan but wondering what happened?

THe Village Inn on 620 here in NW Austin also closed this past week. Totally bummed - my kids loved eating breakfast there!

I found this in a net search......
Vicorp, which also owns a similar restaurant chain called Baker's Square and has been in business since 1958 , said in a statement it has filed to restructure debt under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code.
Under the plan, it has closed 56 restaurants in both chains and continues to run 343 nationally. It also is still honoring gift certificates and conducting business as usual in other ways at the restaurants that remain open, officials said.
Like many family-style restaurants, Village Inn is struggling with issues including rising costs of food and fuel, customers dining out less often in the slowing economy as well as with changing consumer tastes.

Keeping fingers crossed that Magnolia or Kirby Lane take over the space. I just don't understand why they wouldn't want to open a place southwest.

We tried to go and check out the new Chuy's down there in the same shopping area as Vilage Inn, and at 5:15 it already had a 1/2 hour wait! Since we have a toddler, we overflowed over to Cheddars, and about 15 or 20 minutes after arriving there, they had some sort of wait. I think VI bailed out too soon....the addition of Chuy's will draw a lot of folks to the area, and overflow business is HUGE for restaurants in locations like that.
I could see one of the local 'chains' doing well threre - Magnolia, Kerby, or possibly Trudy's (although Trudy's would kind of overlap with the Chuy's draw, I guess). The VI building is kind of small, though.....
