I remember seeing here that there are some charter groups that you can join to be able to take boats out on Lake Travis but not have to own one. To me this seems appealing since I don't have a truck and I don't want the hassle of owning a boat right now. I have 3 kids that I would love to take out on the water during the summer.

Can anyone recomend good charter groups? How much do they run to join and how much to take a ski boat out for a day?

Hmmm....the problem seems to be most people would want the boat on the same day - the sunny, mild winds, sat-sun type days....

If you have a flexible schedule, it might be a great deal for you. Of course, I don't know of any, so I am not really helping .

My sister and her husband belong to Volente Boat Club and they LOVE it!! They have never had a problem with it being too full to not get a boat. They usually get one every warm weekend - and probably make the appt a day or two in advance. ALSO - a big plus, free membership to Volente Water Park!
