Default Young Professional Moving from Indianapolis to Austin

I will be moving out to Austin in a couple of months and my new office will be in the 78730 area. I believe this is near Lake Travis. To give a quick background on myself, I am a 24 year old professional moving from Indianapolis to an area where I do not know anyone. I have many questions about my move out there. Is there an area that young people tend to live that would be near my office? Where would one go to try and meet new people in Austin? Any tips for just moving to the area? I would truly appreciate any help or advice that is offered. Thanks.

78730 runs along the 2222 corridor, between 360 and 620. This area of town is not really known to be a singles area or an area for 20somethings. I would suggest maybe looking around the Arboretum area, or the Domain area, if you are looking at apartments v. buying. Both places have more restaurants and nightlife and your commute, especially from the Arboretum area, would not be *too* bad. Your other option would be to live closer in to downtown and do the reverse commute out to your office. Good luck!

I think intially I will be renting an apartment and I really do not want to spend more than $700-750/month. If possible I would like to be between the office and downtown, but I am not opposed to driving further to the office. What are some of the better restaurants in the area?

There is an apt complex out on 2222 and 620 (not sure of the name) and I think it has a bit of the 'young and hand out at the lake' crowd. No idea what it costs, though....
