Seeking input on Cedar Park (or other Austin elementary level) Montessori
Would love the chance to hear from a parent (or ex-parent) about their experience at the Cedar Park Montessori. There seem to be a zillion Montessori pre-schools in the Greater Austin area, but only 3 who have elementary programs. We want our children in Montessori until at least 3rd grade and are attempting to pick a school for them. The only one up North Austin seems to be Cedar Park.
Hope to hear from someone soon either about Cedar Park or one of the others that offers classes beyond preschool.
Thank you so much.

You might want to check the Austin Montessori North location. It says they have an Early Elementary program.

I noticed that they are building a new montessori school on Parmer north of Avery Ranch Blvd. I'm not sure what the name is. Looks like it will be ready for the next school year.

I just want to be able to chat with a few parents before deciding on whether the school up there is for us or not. Right now we drive 40 minutes each way to get dd to school because I didn't research very well when we moved here and that is the best Montessori around. There is one 10 minutes from us and it is terrible!
Anyways, here's hoping someone has some inside info for me before we have to decide!

Hi,
I had my children at Cedar Park Montessori for 5 years and they did well. I thought the school was very good and clean.. Again, different parents may have different experience but for my children, they liked it.

So I rode by the location of the new schools. There are two of them right next to each other being built. One is caller Parmer Montessori and the other is Brushy creek montessori.

Wow, that was really nice of you - thanks
Parmer is also only through kindy and I the only thing I could find on Brushy Creek also states preschool. I am actually AMAZED at the sheer number of Montessori schools in the Greater Austin area. I am just paranoid about picking the wrong one because of the mistake I made here. I cannot tell you how close I come every day to pulling her out of school because the drive is so crazy. What we don't do for our kids!

JYO -
Thanks so much for the input! It is great to get firsthand info. Good to know that you had a good experience there. Did you find the teachers to be good as well as the facility? What was the highest grade that your children attended there?
Thanks again!

Hi,
My kids went all the way to 4th grade and then for 5th went to Public school..FYI.. I think Cedar park Montessori is the only Montessori school which is accredited by Montessori org. To be honest with you, I knew the director so my views may sound biased but I had kids there till 4th grade and they are doing real well in public schools. The opinions on teachers are always as how your kids take them.. I had two children and both had different personalities and I dont think both could take the same teacher but I think the school has a good reputation and they keep it clean..

Wonderful news (biased or not). Montessori is the only classroom type school that we would consider, so I want to make sure we live near a good one. I know we want them to be in until 3rd at least, so that is more difficult to find than just through Kindy. Thanks for sharing. I greatly appreciate it. I have scheduled a tour in June when I visit Austin. Looking forward to it now!
