Hi. My husband and two pre-teen sons will be moving to Taylor in June. I'll probably have to stay behind until our home sells. If, by some miracle, our house sells, I'll be coming along as well.

Can anyone recommend an apartment complex in Taylor that would be good for my family? We would need a six month lease I think. I'm thinking maybe if it's a family oriented place the boys will be able to meet other kids before school starts. I cannot find very good descriptions of the few complexes in Taylor on the net. My husband wants to make the arrangements pretty soon.

Thanks for all the help ya'll have offered. I'm hoping everything works out. This house selling stuff is getting me down.

Fiddi

I don't know anything about the apartments in Taylor, but I could drive down there and take a look at some and give you my opinion.

Default rent a house

Fiddi --

The only apartments in Taylor that I am aware of are a bit run-down looking. It's really a small town of houses, not so many apartments.

I would look on realtors' websites for rentals, look for a house to rent. You could perhaps rent for 6 mos but a year goes by pretty fast!

Thanks to both of you. We left lots of messages yesterday on answering services. We were able to contact Mallard Run and Tejas Apartments. Only Mallard Run had an apartment open in June. I was able to find one good review of it online.

The reason we are looking for an apartment is we didn't want to be tied down to a year lease. We are hoping for the best with the sale of our house. Hopefully the six months will give us enough time to sell our house and find where we want to settle down in Taylor. I'll check to see if any homes offer a six month lease. But, as of now, it looks like Mallard Run will be home for the next 6 months. I hope it's ok.

Ok. Mallard Run isnt too bad. Most of this cities drug problem is on the southside. There are a couple of street level dealers in that complex, but nothing ever actually happens there. Bull Run next door isnt too bad either, but its older.

The Arbors is a nice complex. Burnett Place is nearly brand new, and has lots of amenities for the family. Schools in Taylor are excellent. The academic decathalon team has won several state championships in a row. Taylor also has many places to eat, buy clothes, shop, and whatnot, and there are several great recreation areas in the area. The police department isnt bad, and Williamson County is extremely tough on crime. I currently live about 3/4 of a mile from that complex, and we dont have any trouble around here.
