Greyhound bus offers service from Austin to Bryan (which is right next to College Station) but it's a 5 hour trip...probably be faster renting a car...

They also offer service from Bryan to Houston...

You could use a Greyhound bus or you could check craigslist for ride sharing. Driving, Austin to College Station is about 2.5 hours and College Station to Houston is a little less than 2 hours. I'm not aware of any "shuttles" that run between these cities. Greyhound sounds like your best bet, but be prepared for it to take awhile.
