Shower Door Replacement
Can anyone offer a recommendation on who to contact for a shower door replacement? I'm looking to replace a framed shower door with a frameless glass door both for purposes of updating and easier cleaning around the edges.
Many thanks!

Shower Door
Had ours replaced by Vantana in Round Rock. Good job, fair price.

Frameless glass shower door
Although I'm not the original poster, thanks for the recommendation. Replacing the gold framed door is high on my "to-do" list after closing.

Anchor Ventana quoted me around $1400 for a 5' wide by ~6' tall frameless shower door with nickel hardware and clear glass.

Frameless shower "upgrade" was $4800 from our builder. That is a big difference from what your contractor quoted. Glad we did not get the upgrade from the builder

frameless glass shower door
We replaced an "L" shaped wall/door 3 years ago (Biswanger Glass - Houston) it was $2100, nickel hardware & clear "heavy" glass. Worth every penny to replace the builder's 16 year old door installation.
It does sounds like the price has gone up a bit; perhaps some comparison shopping would be worth the time.

Has anyone had problems with staining when replacing a door on cultured marble? I spoke with a Binswanger representative this morning who warned that a lot of people have problems getting stains from framed doors off of cultured marble. The stains can't be completely covered up by a frameless. Maybe I'm stuck with framed.

Binswanger Glass did ours, and their quote was lower than 3 other bids that we got. It was about $1500 to do a 5' by 7' opening.

Yeah I have been pretty... shocked by how much gold plated stuff there are in the homes in Texas.
