Default Everyone, batten down the hatches!

Ten years ago, late night storms like the ones beating up the hill country right now, were rare, but they appear to have become commonplace. This happened the other night, but they weren't as strong or as widespread as these.

I'm not about to attribute this to any kind of man-made climate change, but it'll have me up until about midnight, so, if need be, we can run the cars to the carwash up the street. No covered parking as of yet, and I like cars which don't look like golfballs.

We had LOTS of hail coming down here. It was about nickel size. We live about 1/4 mile from Round Rock hospital.

Well, round 2 just passed us. I think I'll gather the kids from their hiding places and get them into their beds : )

Round 3 looks to be kinder. But we in South Austin missed those big storms North of us.

It is definately May, our wettest month of the year.

I predict rain on Memorial Day. That was easy.

Yup! That was insane last night. Live in East RR. Chose that time to introduce my 2 1/2 year old to her new playroom. Located in the closet under the stairs!

Quite a few windows in the UT Tower are being boarded up today as they were broken by hail last night.

Not in-town, as least as of 1 AM...it was a long night.

East of town, 183 & MLK area, we had a few large hail stones, but it appears, using an educated quick look at our dirty, and still wet, cars, they may have escaped unharmed.

What's amazing is my wife slept through all of it. I was up until at least 2:30 after it passed.

It's been a while since we've been exposed to weather like this. We'll have to re-acclimate.
