I have a question for anyone who uses HEB Curbside Order/Pick-Up. Are we supposed to tip these folks? I don't have a problem with tipping but I was just wondering and if so how much.

I feel like it's a Sonic situation. It just depends on what you want to do. I don't even make contact with my curbside person anymore. Pre-COVID, they'd have you sign for your delivery, but now they just put it in the car with little to no contact.

I haven't used it myself but am at HEB often enough to have observed many of these transactions and I would say the majority are as ashbeeigh mentions, person drives up, heb emp comes out with groceries and throws them in the persons vehicle, person drives away, little to no contact physically or verbally.

That said, never hurts to throw a little extra in for the persons efforts, esp if it's a large order, or it's pouring rain, texas heat, etc.

I use Curbside all the time. They aren't allowed to take tips. That's part of their service.

I have not used Home Delivery, but I believe there is an area for tipping on that service in the app/online.

HEB employees are, or I have been told, not allowed to accept tips for any position.

I’ve only done a pickup once. They refused a tip. We are hooked on HEB home delivery. Especially this time of year, during broiling summertime temperatures. We have a long driveway here and it’s a long walk to the front door! HEB home delivery is a luxury that we have come to see as a necessity. They do a really fantastic job.

Tips are encouraged if you use Amazon, though. Good to know on the no tipping. Thanks!

Correct.
We have been using HEB curbside service once a week since March 2020 for the bulk of our grocery shopping.

Favor drivers on the other hand.. ..they survive on tips. please make sure not to reduce the tips on your favor orders, they get paid absolute crap without them.
