Default Getting a Tempur pedic bed prescription

I have a bad back and spondylitis too. I have a flexi spending account that has a couple of thousand bucks in it. So I was wondering if any doctor in Austin prescribes Tempur pedic (or any similar) beds so I can get the cost reimbursed from my flexi spending.

Want to know the doctors' names so I can check if they are in my insurance plan.

Thanks!

Default Prescription letter

I have the same situation. When I contacted my insurance comapny to inquire about this they said I need a letter from the doctor. Did you get a letter from your doctor? If you did is it possible that you can provide the content of that letter?

Thanks,

Dee

Default Letter

Hi, I don't have a letter anymore but I did get a prescription and a letter from the doctor for a specific mattress and pillow. Bought my mattress from Factory Mattress on 183 near Lakeline mall.

It took my doc around 20 days to give me that letter. But if your doc gives you a prescription, you can ask for a letter, but like all medical documents, this one takes its own sweet time. Your insurance company can tell you what content the letter must have.

I did not answer the question earlier Austin_Mommy, but yes I sell Tempurpedic matresses on Shoal Creek... you do not have to pay Sales Tax with a Px from a doctor or a letter from a Chiropractor.

Also, FWIW, I had a tempur-pedic for a year but decided it was too firm and gave it to a family member. I then considered purchasing a sleep number mattress but a friend recommended a company called Flo-beds because their foam bed system allows you to somewhat customize the firmness. It's been a great mattress. Green Mattresses, EcoMattress, Eco Friendly Mattress, Organic Sleep Systems, Natural Products from FloBeds - FloBeds.com

I don't really like my tempur-pedic. I agree with rridgeback... too firm. It also started falling apart within the first year of owning it. They replaced it free of charge, though, which is good. It was too expensive ($2000) to give it away (tried selling it when they replaced it with a new one but no takers). I put a pillow-top on mine, and it's better, but now no sheets will stay on it.

Some people like them... some don't.
