Default Burnet ... information please

I posted this query on the general Texas list ... it was suggested that I also post here on the Austin list ... so here goes ....

Howdy. I've read the city data information on Burnet, population, schools, tax rates, etc. I've found the long term climate summaries, etc. Looking to retire so school information is not needed. I have two questions please:

Specific question; How noticeable is the underground blasting at the quarries? Loud?, ground shaking?, how often/frequent is the blasting? Any other comments on the quarry activities?

General question; Anyone have comments on the general quality of life there? I realize this is a very subjective question

I was there last week for a day and was quite pleased with the Burnet - Marble Falls area. Thanks to all for any thoughts/information.

WE just moved from Marble FAlls after 7 year, never really noticed the underground blasting. There's more shopping, theatre, restaurants in MF than in Burnet. We really liked the area and plan to return as winter Texans.

I would hear the blasting at the quarry on some afternoons, but only when outside, never noticed it when in the house.

You might also try the site; marble falls dot info, good forum there to ask specific questions.

Marble Falls is great, but different. Lived in Burnet for 5 years and never heard of heard anyone complain of blasting. (My best friend still lives there and I just bought property). Have a great adventure.
