Default Any info on Monterey Homes?

Hello,

Was just curious if anyone has any information on the builder Monterey Homes? I know they are a subsidary under Meritage homes which is under or part of Legacy homes, but Monterey is the higher end builder in the family of builders, if there is such a thing.

I have seaarched the internet and this forum for any info on Monterey Homes and can not find anything, except one man's rant about his experience with them in Arizona. The only info I can find is about Meritage Homes.

So, if anyone has experience with them, please let me know.

Thanks!

Interesting that you read a rant about Monterey in Arizona. I lived in AZ for 4 years, both my husband and I worked as realtors there (moved to Austin 2 years ago) and Monterey is known to be a very high end, very reputable builder in the Phoenix area. I think they build, or were building, in Steiner's Savannah Point as well. here in Austin. I would have bought from Monterey in a heartbeat in Phoenix, but there can always be regional differences in quality and management.

Yeah it is interesting that opinions are so easily made and changed. I read this guys ranting on a wesite and it was all about how he had been wronged by Monterey Homes and how they wouldn't give him his money back when he decided not to buy the house he originally signed to buy. But when they made an arrangement to sell him the same house and told him they would not include the money he already paid (due to prior breach of contract), he wasn't happy, I wouldn't be either, but it was easy to see both sides.

Unfortunately, that was all I could find on Monterey Homes, all the information I could was on the "parent" company Meritage Homes.

I am interested in a Monterey Home, so the Meritage Homes info may or may not apply, and I am trying to find out.

Thanks for the opinion on the homes you saw in AZ.
