Default Falconhead propane bills

Hi,

I'm looking at homes in Falconhead and other Lakeway areas with community propane service. Can you give me any examples of how much your bills are (high/low)? BTW, I've seen all of the negative posts about Texas Community Propane...

Thanks.

We lived in Falconhead. The gas bills for our 2400 sqft house were between $80-$225. We had gas cooktop, water heater and heating.

hope this helps.

I haven't lived in Falconhead but I know from what I've heard about community propane setups that the bills can be a shocker for some people.

Much more expensive than owning a 500 gallon tank and filling it twice a year, so it's definitely something you want to thoroughly investigate. I know of at least one family in Belterra who built with all electric appliances and HVAC because, after talking to other home owners, they learned that the propane bills were very high and much more costly that electricity.

If it's of concern to you, drive through the neighborhood on an early Saturday morning and see if you can catch some neighbors outside before it gets hot and just ask around. You might poke around the golf course and chat up people there too and just ask if they live in FH and how they like it and what their propane bills average.

Steve

If you have a re-sale home you are considering making an offer. You can ask the homeowner to provide you an estimate of their propane bills month by month. You will need to ask how many people there are living in the house to have a basis.
