KVET - Sam & Bob vs Bucky & Bob (racist, year)

I did a search and was surprised that this topic hadn't been discussed already.

I guess Sammy Allred was fired from KVET last year and now Bob Cole has a new partner. This new show is more sports focused and now they screen their calls. I miss the authentic quirkiness of the original show.

Any opinions?

Sammy was becoming too cantankerous and some of his statements were racial according to the Statesman. I quit listening to him 15 years ago because frankly he enjoyed being a jerk.

Bob Cole - no opinion since I mute the commericals.

While Sammy was quite annoying (I hated their morning show, personally), the reason Sammy got fired was pretty stupid...he was making fun of a politician that had made some fairly stupid remarks about Obama by parodying (is that a word) the remarks. Taken out of context, they would have been racist remarks....if you are making fun of someone's remarks, they are pretty much the exact opposite; however, KVET was looking for a reason to fire him and took that oppurtunity. Although I didn't really like the guys style/personality, it chaps me more that people can be so sensitive to the words without listening to the meaning .

Bucky is from the KVET AM 1300 morning show. Although I am still not a fan of the 98.1 morning show, I would have to say it is an imporvement.
