Default Why Austin

My educated guess is that Austin has the demographics that many publishers' advertisers like, so it appears again and again... However, those demographics are usually indicators that the city is a good place to live.

Do you work for them and know for a fact that it isn't real? Again, all publications are meant to be sold otherwise no magazine would be in circulation, but the questions remains--why single out Austin or the other 9 for that matter? If you ever look at the criteria that makes it into their list, support is given to show why they felt those particular cities should be on the list, yet I have seen no support saying it's all a ploy.

duh, you must not know how marketing and advertising works. Which ever city has the highest bid gets the most attention in the magazines, online info-sites, etc. I'm sorry to burst your little bubble and rain all over your parade but Austin is totally overrated and full of hot balloon air and some stinky methane gas lol.

There is probably a department in city hall that funds the advertising and marketing for the city of Austin. They are clearly doing a fantastic job. That is how it ALL works.

And how do you know this? You are saying that the city of Austin does in fact pay off these publications to put them on the list? Do you have insider knowledge of this?

And if you dislike Austin so much, why live there?

So it's not true that Austin has educated people, a low cost of living, a decent economy compared to many states?

Ok, so explain to me/us why if you no longer live in Austin, you disliked it so much, and are glad to be gone, why you still hover on the Austin CD site. It's like stalking an ex girlfriend, dude. It's over, let it go!

I mean, now that you are gone, you must be some place far more fun, living life to its fullest, so how do you have time on Saturday night to be posting? My excuse is I have a six year old son that keeps me in at night If I were young, childless, and artsy, I'd be out living it up.

First of all I can complain and say negative things about anything even old boyfriends or would-be boyfriends..

second it costs money to be living it up every weekend-night. Gas costs money, food costs money, friends are sometimes busy with their own schedule, you clearly have a one-track mind with little room for pity or compassion

Most cities in Texas do...Austin get over yourself already. ROTFL.
