does anyone have any first hand experience with what the drought condtions are like in the Hill Country around Wimberley?

we are planning bacation for week after July 4 and wanted to rent house on Blanco river around Wimberley and just have some peace and quiet--
but talked to someone with management co yesterday who said that it has been a really dry spring and some of their rental properties on the rivers/creeks could maybe go dry...

Unfortunately true there,
We live near by and seasonal creeks are all dry, and the rivers in Wimberley have long stretches of bone dry, so it would be hit or miss. Unless it rains (floods) soon you would be best to call ahead to the place you are staying. There are a few still on some swim holes, but not many..
Cypress creek of course has water , but its flow has slowed..
Hope this helps..
Cheers

I talked to somebody this morning that lives out near Wimberley and he said his rain gauge has recorded 1/2" of rain since January.

sad to hear that lovely country is suffering--and while people want to move there it is just self-destructive to keep adding developments--the city/county really need to make tighter restrictions on growth...and not leave it to public opinion to stop them
