Default 10 Things I MUST SEE in AUSTIN

I will be in Austin Texas till the 13th. I am in the west lake area. I already have been on the river for swimming, saw sandra bullock's gate, Matt Maconheys house by Chuys, ate at Chuys (awesome). Tommorrow I plan to go downtown, but I am planning my places to see right now. What are the TEN things I have to see while in Austin?

1. Chuys (Check)

Last year a kid drowned in Devil's Cove going down a slide from a party barge. I don't think they ever found the body. And as for the guy who drowned a few days ago, what he did was not smart. If your anchor gets caught, just drive the boat around a little and try and drag the anchor off what it's caught on. If it won't come undone, cut it loose. The only exception I would guess is if your not in water thats over your head. It's only an anchor and they aren't that expensive anyway. I'd rather lose that than a human life. We were out the day before that happened and got our anchor caught and it never even crossed our minds to try and dive in and follow the line to untangle it (it was over 100 ft. down anyway, since we had to use 2 100 ft. lines to get it to touch bottom.

Chickenfry, guess I better let my husband take me to Barton Springs then because I still haven't been even though I've been here 4 yrs. now.

I love achtungs list. It's got lots of great things on it. I've done 4 things on it so far.

It's cliche but see the bats. Stand on the Congress Bridge looking down at the river. Pretty cool.
Welcome to Bat Conservation International

Go hiking somewhere in or around the city. Here's a good place to get started. Go to the "find a hike" link:

Go to Blues on the Green this Wednesday. Even if you don't know or care who's playing(this week is Los Lonely Boys). It's fun.

Go to Shady Grove on Thursdays for free shows. Good time.
Shady Grove Restaurant - Austin, Texas

Definitely go to the Drafthouse. The one downtown is more historic in nature, but I prefer the one on S Lamar.
The Original Alamo Drafthouse Cinema

The Paramount Theater downtown is showing classic movies all summer. Gorgeous old theater:
