Best Alamo Drafthouse location?
Need help quick.
We are taking our 21 yr old daughter out tonight to see the Dark Knight and have never gone to the Alamo.
Which location is best? Some of the ads look a little seedy...?
Is one of the locations more so or is it not that bad?
Thanks!!

not sure what you mean by seedy. they're campy! it's a fine place to see a movie. It's the only place we go!
I love South Lamar. Stadium seating. Haven't been to the Ritz location yet. My least favorite is Anderson, only because it is rather small. Lake Creek is pretty good.
my recommendation...buy your tickets online now. they do sell out! And get there plenty early to line up for a popular movie like Dark Knight. The lines last week for Hellboy 2 were very long, so I'm sure DK will be no different.

I went to the Ritz for the first time a couple of weekends ago to see Sex and the City. I loved it. The very back row has nice, comfy couches. You'll run into a punk rock crowd spilling out of the bar a few doors down, but no troubles.

South Lamar or Ritz. If you go to the Ritz, make sure you get the screening in the bigger theater since they are showing Batman on the tiny second screen as well.
Parking is much easier at South Lamar since there is no dedicated lot at the Ritz location.

None of the locations are seedy at all AFAIK. Haven't been to the Ritz location, but downtown is always a blast. The Village location (Anderson) is good too, easy parking and cozy little place.
But from what I've heard, if you don't already have a ticket, you won't be seeing it tonight. Hopefully you bought one quick this morning!

I'm obviuosly not too quick thinking and did not buy tickets this morning.
Ok, any other suggestions on a good theatre to take her to?
The IMAX is sold out, too.

Since Alamo Drafthouse and the Imax theaters are already sold out, I would just go to the closest nice theater. Since you are in Lakeway, that would probably be the new Cinemark at the Hill Country Galleria (Bee Cave). I can't think of any other movie theaters that would be worth driving a good distance to get to. People are probably going to be in line about an hour or so before the movie, so if you care about where you sit in the theater, you might want to get there fairly early.

I went to see it at the Cinemark in the 78745 area code Thursday night @ midnight. I bought the tickets in advance. Like the geek I am, I got there over 2 hours early, brought a flashlight, and read. Um, it was way too early. I think if you get an hour early you should be fine. It was a great place to see it, fyi, but freezing cold so bring a sweater. (I found most inside places in Austin to be freezing cold, though, so maybe it was just me)
The movie was awesome, by the way. You won't be disappointed.

Lake Creek is the one I always go to or prefer to go to. I been to the one off Lamar and Anderson and those seem to be more the older one's.
I am sure any of them would be perfect to take your daughter out too.
