My mom was telling me she recently read a book where the author said that every city has a word that describes it. According to him, NYC was "achieve" and Los Angeles was "success." Mom decided Boston's was "status" (which I don't know if I agree with or not. maybe).

I think living in a McMansion in the burbs and having a 9-5 office job is weird. I think having 3 kids is weird. My sister-in-law (who is awesome) would disagree.
I still like the slogan ("Keep Austin Weird"), though, and appreciate it in the spirit that it was meant.
My question was more about the "feel" of Austin. I don't really think one can describe a place using one word, but I also thought it was a fun exercise.
