Default State Park Recommendation

I am new to the Austin area and I am looking for some recommendations on state parks. I have a pop up trailer and will be taking my three and six year old children with me so I am looking for a small kid friendly park.

We used to take our kids to Pedernales Falls State Park for camping. (Keep in mind, the youngest is now 24.) Also Bastrop State Park.

I vote for Inks Lake SP, but it's a bit NW of town.

Thumbs up Favorite TX State Park

We recently discovered Inks Lake State Park. It was very nice. The Park Rangers keep down the riff-raff and the park itself is well-maintained with lots of things to do, including canoe rentals. The campsites have both electricity and water, and are not on top of each other, so you have some privacy. The better sites get taken early, but there wasn't any "bad" sites that we could tell.
