Talking Considering the move to Austin

My husband & I are considering relocation to Austin from Phoenix. We are in our late 30's/early 40's, no children and love to be outside, coffee shops, fine dining, shopping, and we love being near the water.
Cali is way too expensive and Florida is not desirable to us. Phx is a great city, but we are looking for some culture, good music, mom & pop type of places, warm weather/mild winters and nice people! It is very difficult to make good, solid friends in Phx because it is so transient and it is mostly new strip malls/chain stores.

Do you think Austin would be a good fit for us?

Thank you for any feedback!

I think you would love Austin... everyone else does!! there are lots of great things about the state capitol, live music, great food and affordable home prices (compared to other areas of the country). We also have light rail coming soon;

mild winters but hot summers. i have lived here for 25+ yrs and love it!
I am also a Realtor and home builder so if you have more specific questions just ask via message board or email.

It sounds like you're describing Austin! Or one of the communities surrounding it, depending on how urban (or not) you want to be. You might want to live out by one of the lakes, if you want to be right near water, but it's only a short drive if you'd rather live closer in.
