Hey all,

New to this forum and to Austin too...
My son will be turning 1 next month and we are planning to throw a party which he and kids of around his age could enjoy.
Can you guys suggest some places around here?

thanks,
PAMY

Radijazz, kiddie acres, goodness....lots of places I think there are some other threads on this topic on here BTW, Happy Birthday to your son. If any of the little ones like water, I think there are also some parks with splash pads. Brushy Creek Lake Park is one and someone said there is one downtown. I could probably suggest more if I knew what area you where in.

I don't think Gymboree caters, but once I went to a party where they bought party trays of nuggets and fruit from Chick-Fil-A and that was a huge hit with the kiddies!

Typically, most one year old parties are held at home with just close friends or family, mainly adults. One year olds get overwhelmed by too much activity. You have to ask yourself if the party is for you or your little one. We had planned an elaborate event but then cancelled it at the last minute and had a small family party at home. It was much more special.

My sister always has big parties at her house. I think for my nieces party they just rented a bouncy castle and had a potluck for lunch. It was just me, my husband, my daughter and our roommate for our daughter's first birthday, but we were living up in Denver away from our families.

A nice park with a cool playscape for toddlers would be another good idea.
