Default Suicidal Worms

What is it about worms, rain and swimming pools?

After the recent rain, I came out one morning and the pool bottom was literally covered in dead worms. I'm taking hundreds it not thousands of the buggers. By the time I got them in the evening and netted them out they were quite smelly and the pile was quite big.

To cap it all the odd one would decide to smear itself on the bottom of the pool when trying to net it, leaving a nice mark that needed to be brushed off.

Grrr

Well, the worms leave their holes 'cause the water would drown 'em. At least that's what I learned.

Otherwise...Austin worms are keeping it weird.

Bummer on the plaster stains. Do you have a stainless wire brush which snaps into the end of your pool pole?

We have the same problem...a good dose of chlorine will get the stains up. Just shock and give it a few days.

Ick!!

I have a thing about worms!! Snakes, lizards, scorpions don't bother me but (shiver) worms . . . I have serious issues.

Is this common? We were looking at houses with pools but . . . finding something like that would give me heart failure.
