Haven't been able to get there in years, even when in town on business. Is the Dobie still open? When I was there in '97, it seemed to be just hanging on.

It's still there. Not a very nice theater though, but they play interesting movies.

Oh, ha - we went there when we first moved here. Didn't know what it was like - just saw it was playing the movie we wanted at the time we wanted... we, a couple who is 27 and 32, felt totally awkward there because everyone else was probably like 18-20... college students.
The popcorn was horrible, but I liked that they had nutritional yeast out to put on it. I was really worried rats would be running around the floor during the movie - that's how "not nice" the place is. ![]() |
