A lot of these stations in Houston, right now, have NO gas. So, in a situation like this, we tend to get it while we can, where we can. Either that or walk. It happened during Rita and, despite what the state said, it's happened again. And the bad news is that it might not only become harder to come by but much more expensive (again). See these links. ( 20% of the U.S. refining capacity is shut down due to Ike)

Hurricane Ike strains fuel supply, affects gas prices | News for Dallas, Texas | Dallas Morning News | Texas Regional News
So, right now I have a generator but no gas and within a few hours if not sooner, no power (and no AC). Now THAT suks.

And THAT is the reason I filled up our cars yesterday.. they had already announced that wholesale gasoline was up to $4.50. Which means pump prices will have to go up, at least temporarily, by quite a bit...

You should fill up. The phenomena is nationwide, apparently.

yeah, right. Hutto dry bubble vs. gray clouds and wind and it looks like hutto dry bubble is winning. Gray clouds and wind all around us and not a drop of anything wet
Just looked at that radar and I actually saw the Hutto Dry Bubble. Lucky Rockdale and Lexington!
