Default Sun tube (or normal) skylights installation cost?

The house we're considering has a dark interior bathroom so we'd like to put in a sun tube (or standard) skylight. The house has a metal roof so I'm not sure how complicated that is, seems like it would be a bit more tricky than a shingle roof, eh? So has anyone here installed one and if so, how much does that cost?

Thanks!

I had a sun tube ("Sola Tube" I believe it was called) in California, and a friend installed it. He charged $600 (plus the cost of the hardware), which I know probably won't help you.

My point is... I didn't really like it. I didn't feel like it gave us enough sun. The room it was in was pretty big, and no sun naturally came into it. After the tube, it brought the room from pitch black (with shades drawn) to murky. It was also kind of ugly.

I would go with the standard skylight, if I were you, depending on the size of the room.

$500-600 is what I've pieced together from some other sites that sell and install.

I can see what you mean about using one in a larger room. There were some photos on those sites that looked darker than what I'd want. I think for a bathroom or closet they should work pretty well though. The bathroom in this house is like a dark cave. Probably doesn't help that it's painted dark red.

I love my solar tube - in bathroom, halls and closets it is like having a light on - works great worth the money and they have them up to 21" if you have a larger space.

I agree it would probably be great for a closet or hallway and maybe a bathroom. Just not anything larger.
