Congrats Atlanta Hope. I know you were a woman on a mission looking for a job. It gives me hope about my husband who is relocating with me to austin for my job (he works in your field).

Why not rent for a longer term if it is in the neighborhood you want? In Austin, it seems like it is cheaper to rent than own? IMHO, that is not a good sign for property values.

FWIW- I totally relate to being excited but sick to your stomach! Relocating is a HUGE undertaking with kids, homes to buy/sell, dual careers, schools, babysitters, etc. Deep breaths. One thing at a time. That's my motto anyway.
