Where do people go to just hang out at Lake Travis on a nice day?

Paleface Park is one place. Cow Creek or Devil's Cove if you have a boat.

Mansfield Dam, Windy Point and Cypress Creek are probably the ones closest to Austin. Paleface Park was renamed during the PC days to Pace Bend Park -it's one of the best IMO, but it does require a bit of driving.

Are there any good hiking trails along the edges of Lake Travis? Would love to hike around the waters edge or in some of the nearby hills that overlook the lake.

I go to windy point regularly (bob wentz park at windy point) with the lake so low the sand is exposed and it has a 'beach"

Is it possible to swim with a dog in Lake Travis? or anywhere else in the Austin area? Isn't there any little cove or swimming hole I can go to with my inflatable kayak and little dog where I can enjoy nature/the water without hassle?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

We almost always see people swimming with their dog(s) off the shore in Arkansas Bend park on Lake Travis. There is a nice cover there with 'relatively' easy access, despite the low water.
