Default Tree trimming in NW Austin

Last night was very windy and the trees around our house hit the house multiple times. It was scary to say the least. Should get the trees trimmed asap, right?

Anyone has any recommendations for or experience with reasonably priced tree trimming services? Thanks.

Davey Trees are the best, pricey, but trees are a huge investment and worth paying top dollar for top service. Beware of the guys with a pick up roaming your neighborhood. You get what you pay for.

Yeah, we have used one of the bigger players to do our trees and been happy with the service. It is not cheap, though, around $800 now, I would guess (it has been a few years, so I am figuring in a little bit of inflastion). We do have a couple of 100+ year oaks that we are not willing to risk, though, to a cheap job.

Remember that right now is not a great time to trim trees, especially Oaks (Oak Wilt). The best time to do it is when it is really hot or really cold, to minimize spread of fungus/disease.

I was going to use these guys, but I did it myself to save a few bucks.

Not sure if they will drive out to NW, but I don't see why they wouldn't.

I should have been more specific, but a good reminder nonetheless. I actually need to have two dead oaks and one dead cedar removed from my back yard. Not sure if I would bother with stump removal though since they make excellent backless chairs.

Hopefully this could make way for planting new oaks that aren't susceptible to oak wilt (if there is such a thing).
