Taco Cabana is okay for drive-through Mexican food, and vastly superior to Taco Bell, but I've been miffed with them ever since the family lawsuit that put the much better competitor, Taco Casita I think it was (but am not sure), out of business. If they'd improved to be as good, I wouldn't have been so miffed, but as it was, I figured it was just a cheap and dirty way of getting rid of better run with better food competition.

However, that was years ago, and there's only so long I can hold a grudge.

It was Casa something or other. Now I'm gonna have that stuck in my head all night trying to think of the entire name.

TaCasita (mentioned here):

Taco Cabana - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Funny, I was always confused about what I figured was a name change.. the food was basically the same. But I do recall, now that you mention it, that when I was at UT we would go for a "TaCasita run" and I think it was to the location on 183 near Ohlen (which was WAAAY far out then) that is now a Taco Cabana.

Anyone remember the Sombrero Rosa by UT campus? They were in a building shaped like a giant pink sombrero. The restaurant didn't last long, but that sombrero building hung around for a while..

Aaahh..Two Pesos is the one I remember it taking over in Houston. It was already pretty similar to Taco Cabana anyway. I lived in Clear Lake when Two Pesos was still around.
