Default Keep Santa Cruz Weird??
So I just moved to Santa Cruz, CA where their moto is "Keep Santa Cruz Weird"!! As a native Austinite, I found this appalling...kidding, but I did find it weird (no pun intended). Everyone here tells me this has been their moto for a while and it is pretty weird here. It is very much like Austin, just much smaller.

What do you guys think...is Austin the originator or Santa Cruz?

I have my money on Austin!

U.C. Santa Cruz over twenty years ago adopted the most bizarre team mascot by a long shot. Longhorns is respectable...Banana Slugs now that is weird

Actually they released a list of weirdest college mascots and below the banana slugs were the Whittier poets. Their mascot is a giant poet holding a sharp pen. But, the banana slugs still got one before last.
