Default Omni Dental Group

Has anyone used Omni Dental Group and what are your impressions?

We have until Dec 31 to change Dental plans, either a dental PPO that allows to go anywhere (reimbursement varies) or a Dental DMO we must use an assigned provider. The assigned provider for us would be Omni Dental. The advantage of the DMO is that its much cheaper, and cheaper premiums, I called, for both my kids, exam, x-rays, cleaning and flouide would come to $90. We pay a lot more now with our PPO insurance, but we like our dentist.

I'm wondering if I would like being assiigned to one clinic? But, the DMO does have orthodontic benefits as long as you use their network orthodontists, the PPO no ortho benefits, my daughter needs braces.

So, the DMO would be the best for us if we felt comfortable going to a DMO. Any opinions about Omni Dental? Thanks!

We had 'em for a bit. They were ok, but they lost my wife's appointment once, which was a pain.I've heard some horror stories regarding them, but all they ever did to us was check ups & cleanings.

Same issue last December with us-- we tried the Omni Dental on Wm Cannon-- dirty, crowded, rude staff, and parents must stay in the waiting room while your child is seen, no exceptions! Changed to PPO that will go in effect Jan 1st and back to Dr Sarradett over at Rose Dental.

Which Omni are you thinking about visiting? I would check it out first before you make your final decision.

Good Luck!

The Omni on haymeadow. We went today, I was not impressed. Both my kids were seen while I waited in the waiting room, I never even saw the dentist, then they just stuck a treatment plan/bill under my nose, here, sign this. I asked to see the dentist, said he "had an emergency". Ummmm...what type of "emergency" do you have in a dental office?

Ok, for what its worth, I will get the cleaning & flouride treatments, good price. But I really find it hard to trust some I never see with my kids! my daughter needs braces, we need them to refer us to someone in their group, I never even had a chance to discuss that with the "mystery dentist"

We can change to PPO but it doesn't include orthodontics, but at least we can "see" our dentist. Also, our current orthodontist will set up payment plans, perhaps that's best? Also, the flip side to dental coverage for orthodontics, I understand, once they set up a plan, they can't deviate from it, if something else comes up, they can't charge extra, so, obviously, they will just ignore it, where else will you go?

I like our current orthodontist and dentist, want to stay with them. I don't think I will like this Omni DMO plan.

I had Omni and they were so impersonal. Rude staff. It took 3 months to get an appointment for an exam and then they told me that the hygienist is back up so I would have to reschedule 3 months later for a cleaning. I am not used to that. I have always had cleaning and exam at the same time. Find another option if possible.

Exactly our experience, one appt for check up, another appt for cleaning! But they were able to schedule them within a few days, I can't see a cleaning or treatment 3 months after the exam, the situation could have changed in 1/4 a year!

We all went and got our basic exam, x-rays, and cleaning done before the EOY to get something for the premiums we've been paying, but will switch to a PPO next year, I can't spen half my life running back and forth to the dentist!

I've had Omni at Hymeadow for several years. They are better than some but not the best I've had. The don't have a "personal" touch to them. Fortunately I have basically sound teeth and all I need is a good cleaning twice a year and xrays once a year to make sure nothing is sneaking up on me.

About a month ago my 10yo son had a toothache and I found out he needed a root canal. I needed to get him in fairly quickly because we were planning to leave town in only a few days. I ended up with an appointment at Omni. The day of the appointment I went online . . . to Google Maps I think it was . . . just to get directions to their location. Google Maps also has a place where people can give reviews for businesses. The reviews for Omni were not good at all. More than one had been quoted one price only to be charged more. Reports of rude behavior, etc. Too bad I should see this so late. Anyway, felt I had to go ahead with the appointment because, as I said, we were planning to leave town. I was cautious going in because of what I had read. They wanted my credit card number before they would even begin treatment. I didn't want to give it, but finally did. They did end up charging me more, $200 more, than they quoted on the phone. And then INSISTED they do not give quotes over the phone. They did! Receptionist was rude. I would NEVER go back.

After trauma and loss of my front tooth, I had a great experience at Omni. I went to the Hymeadow location. The office was beautiful and the staff great! I loved the fact that they had specialists on staff, and the staff stayed late on a Friday to extract a broken tooth. The specialist placed the implant the same day, and the general dentist made a nice temp so I can function with a front tooth. Thanks for working my emergency care in late Friday. And the front desk stayed until 6:45 PM just for me. You guys are great! A happy Omni patient.

Default Omni Dental is Great!

I don’t like going to the dentist, and I have AWFUL insurance. I do appreciate that Omni takes the lesser amounts that some insurance companies offer. I guess that means they are affordable. I did have to wait 5-10 minutes for my appointment. The office was very busy, but it ran great. None of the other offices I called took the state employee insurance, so I was glad they did. I had a great doctor, Dr. Marc Amsili, and his assistant was great, so I’d have to say that they are okay. I realized that my insurance itemizes every item as a co-pay, and as a matter of fact my insurance pays them nothing. They work for my co-pay only.
