Well if it's online, you'd need a computer screen in front of you.

i would certainly have a bottle of vodka. it is so boring and lasts forever.
in all honesty, i would never do it again. i would go to one of those comedy club defensive driving classes. costs the same, takes the same number of hours, might as well have a laugh or two while you are at it!

I recently took a course from idrivesafely.com. Truth be told, I didn't read a lick of content. I just tabbed back and forth from my real work to the idrivesafely page to see if it was ok to press the continue button (there is a timer on each page). The tests are pretty easy to pass without reading the content and they give you the answers if you get less than 80%. You can re-take any of the tests if you don't pass the first time. As far as information that you'll need in front of you - when you register, you should know the court, your ticket number, and drivers license number.

Did you know that if you're from out of state, you have to pay the ticket and for the class? I'm taking it to deal with the ticket I received... but haven't been able to find my blasted birth certificate to get my TX drivers license. And to as where my car title has gone to...
I'll be taking the class soon myself.

hope, we're not in Kansas(Georgia) any more! DW has been stopped twice...once, the State Patrol turned around and chased her down for not having a front tag(stupid law) and the second time she got a ticket for 'ten percent above the limit'. She is going to try the online DD course, I think. I got stopped for 'speeding' but got a warning...183 north on the way to Lampassas...I was in the left lane and in Texas, that means you were passing...so, I must have been going faster than the SUV in the right lane(actually, the right lane is pretty chewed up on many of the highways around here, so I was in the 'smooth' lane...not passing)...I'll take the warning as just that. Actually, the speed limit around town is OK with me...60-65 works a lot better than Atlanta's 90mph and then gridlock for miles . Just look out for the 'variety' of limits on any given highway as you change jurisdictions!
On the subject of your license, make sure that you did not arrive here until your hubby did-wink, wink ...they don't like it when it takes more than 30 days to switch to TX tags and license. Good luck!

you cant do this as the timer stops if the window doesnt have focus. Are you sure you did this?
I kept two computers going and watched tv. I took notes so I could look anything up that I needed to.
I would do the online course again

Tell me about it! The cop that wrote me the ticket asked me how long I'd been here -- and I told him that I had a week or so to get my license. He was just waiting to get me on that one. Good thing I knew what he was up to. I don't understand how they can give you a measly 30 days to get a license when they require a birth certificate or passport. I'm still unpacking crap out of our POD... one of these days I'll find one or the other.
I am pretty speedy and have tried to slow it down -- all I need is another ticket! At least until the new year and then maybe I can take the drivers course and have it wiped off my record again. You can do that once a year apparently.
Good luck staying under the radar!
DH says he doesn't miss ATL in the least but he hasn't met a Texas cop yet.

It used to be every two years - and it was 24 months, not calendar years. Don't know if that's changed.
