Default Fun Things to do In Austin,Tx

Maybe there are a lot of things to do in Austin but most of the things to do there involve you shelling out some bucks to do it ,on top the at least 5-10 miles you'll have to drive to get there and find a parking spot. The burger's at El Camino are dam though good maybe that's because the use black Angus for there beef.

If you mean Casino El Camino, then you are absolutely right. The BEST burger I have ever had!

Club Deville does a show called Psychotropic every Wednesday night... and it's free. Town Lake is free. Ironically this week is "Free Week," and I believe you can get into most clubs for free. I just saw a great free show at Beauty Bar the other night.

Parks are free. Most festivals are free, or very cheap. (Of course, you might spend money there buying something.) Those that aren't, tend to be fundraisers for good causes.

I haven't explored this yet (just did a quick google for "free events" "Austin, Texas"), but it sounds like an interesting concept.

Then there's this website with a lot of free things to do in Austin.

Those were just a couple of hits - I didn't go any further.

Several of the museums, like the Capital and the ones at UT, are also free.

Barton Springs Pool is free during certain hours/times of year. The greenbelt and other great mountain biking/hiking trails are free.

There is Zilker hillside theater, Movies in the Park, Blues on the Green... lots of free events like that.

UT football games are expensive, but you can watch and enjoy the atmosphere at tailgates for free! (well, there is parking or shuttle bus costs, and sometimes a donation to the tailgate... but it's a cheap-to-free way to get the real experience)
