Default Can someone please check the Austin phone book...

...in the front phone service pages, where it list the exchanges that are "local" ?

Vonage doesn't have any numbers available in Austin, but does in Rollingwood. I want to make sure that folks in Austin who have AT&T (particularly in the 472- exchange) would be only charged a local rate to call me.

The exchanges are:

215
275
535
687
692
697
828

So, in the front of the Austin phone book are these listed as local numbers?

Thanks!

Don't have a phone book anymore but .ooking at the map Rollingwood is inside 360 so I would think all those numbers would be local.

Who pays long distance anymore? Do phone companies still have plans that charge long distance by the minute?

Yes, they do. And people who only have land lines -- like, oh, say, my parents in their 80s -- have such plans. It makes perfect sense because they almost never make long distance calls.

I just want to make sure that when they think they're calling me locally, it really is local and they don't get ugly surprises on their phone bill.
