Story today in the AAS - ranchers in TX are selling off their cattle at rock-bottom prices because they can't afford to buy water to keep them alive.

Actually, as the weatherman said one evening, giving me a fit of the giggles because it was so absolutely TRUE:

"Drought. Flood. Drought. Flood. Drought. Flood. In other words, normal Central Texas weather."

This is worse than many, but not unheard of.

Wash your car, wash your neighbor's cars, powerwash your decks, take an umbrella everywhere with you, and leave a suede jacket on the clothesline outside... then maybe, just maybe, it will rain again.

I have high hopes for this Monday, though. They say 20%, but I have a good feeling. I may need to plan a picnic just to be safe.
Maybe leave the top down on the convertible, too!

I think spray-painting DW's new shoe shelves out on the patio might help, also! Should I wait until Monday?

TexasHorseLady ... there was a fine young man downtown friday dressed in some sort of head decor, with what I presume to be a rainstick, doing what I supposed was a raindance. I'm not sure how often or long he has been there, but it didn't seem to work this weekend. I am always amused when I am driving and see signs that say "watch for water on the road." I live out in Hill Country from what I hear it hasn't rained here in forever, wouldn't a "watch out for roadkill on the road" sign make a little more sense ... even if it does rain, it won't stay on the road it will all be soaked up into the dry cracks of the earth?
