Exclamation Loud trains in Cedar Park

We recently moved to Cedar Park, love the city, fresh air and friendly people. There is a railway line close to our humble abode, loud and annoying especially when the whistle blows at 5am . Question is to homeowners who have the railway line running close to their homes?? How do you deal with this as far as noise, does it affect the value of your homes, do you ever hear anything from the city about future expansion etc?

They continue to add railway crossings and making the train silent. I heard that it will no longer blow going over avery ranch blvd and cr175 in the paper this week. Which street is the crossing at that you hear?

@ Woodinvilleguy--> we keep hearing the train whistle as it rumbles along the brushy creek road and 183A intersection but are slightly more concerned about the tracks behind Quest Village subdiv which is off Discovery Blvd.

hmm, the info I got was from the local magazine that comes in the mail so I'm not sure. Maybe they haven't implemented the no whistle think. I hope the do soon,I can imagine how annoying it would be.
