Default Diversity in Austin? Kyle and Buda have a mix of people or NO?

looking at housing in Kyle, Buda, Pfluegerville, RoundRock, Northeast?

wondering which areas have a mixed community of people of different races and which are more segregated?

i read that east austin is mainly black or brown(which part is this, across the I35)?

where is a more diverse section of Austin outside of Central Austin? what would be the most middle class area where you will see asians, whites, hispanics and blacks living in the same neighborhood?

yes, East Austin generally refers to east of I-35, traditionally this was the area where African American and Hispanics lived. (Yes, Austin was an officially segregated city both homes and schools not that long ago and patterns persist.)

Lots of African American families with roots in East Austin have moved to Pfugerville and Round Rock. Generally, you tend to get more Asians and South Asians in north and north west Austin. Hispanics are everywhere but perhaps a little heavier to the south. It is hard to say.

But as central Austin gets more pricey, it gets whiter and the surrounding areas get more diverse, not just ethnically and economically, I know a fair number of artists and musicians who live in Kyle and Buda because they could not afford to buy in Austin proper. But many chose to rent instead and live close-in.

You will find a mix of people in all the areas that you listed and more.

North East of Austin, East of 35 (not "the" 35) it's really diverse. Out in my neck of the woods you have hispanic, white, black, indian and asian. I've seen more asian and Indian families lately out this way. I think a lot of it has to do with the development out in TeraVista.

East of 35 directly across from downtown is what is historically the poorest area of Austin. It's being gentrified so a lot has changed over there now. Lots of mainly black/hispanic in the past. I think it's more mixed now. Round Rock, Georgetown, and Pflugerville (even Hutto and Taylor) have nice middle class neighborhoods and I think a lot more diverse than their west counterparts, except maybe further NW like Georgetown, Cedar Park/Leander.

Where sometimes you'll read that a neighborhood, for example CC or Steiner, has "2 black families, a few asians, or one Indian family, typically in areas East it will be like 15 black families or interracial families, 10-15 white families and maybe 5 asian/indian families to a long block and in almost every neighborhood, not just in a few spread out here and there. I'm just going by what I see on my end of the world and this goes for more expensive neighborhoods out here to the least expensive ones, including rural homes.
