Default Bailey/Paredes MS, Akins/Bowie HS

I have read the schools stats on the AISD website-- can someone with first hand experience at any of these schools tell me why I should favor Bailey or Paredes MS and Akins or Bowie HS?

I read the newspapers and it seems that Paredes and Akins get the bad rap, but I do know from some of the teachers at Bailey and Bowie that the same things happen at their schools it just isn't made public.

We are looking to buy a home--but it looks like we will be in the Paredes/Akins boundaries due to affordability, however I am looking to transfer my children to keep them with their peers at Bailey and then to Bowie.

Some schools are definitely better at keeping things in house. For example, a few years ago, there were like 4 heroin ODs at Lake Travis HS but none made the news.

Bailey/Bowie are clear winners over Peredes/Akins. It's not even a contest.
